Regional Customary Tenure Launch

“Launching of the regional Customary Tenure Learning and Advocacy activity. A first workshop took place in Vientiane, on the 30th of September and 1t of October.
This workshop was attended by FAO regional land tenure Officer (Marianna Bicchieri), Oxfam (Emma Aquinot), MONRE /DALAM Laos (Mr Sivixay Salivanh), Recoftc Vietnam (Dr Tan), CIYA Cambodia (Lan Chamtha), Moe Moe as technical support to Myamar Customary Tenure L&A working group, and MRLG staff (Kate Rickersey, Soukkasem Lomathmanivong and Christian Castellanet), plus land tenure expert Jeremy Ironside from Cambodia. The participants discussed the main issues surrounding the recognition of customary tenure in their respective countries, and agreed on the next steps to be followed : First stock taking exercise will conducted in each country, and their conclusions will be discussed with relevant decision makers at the national stakeholders workshops which will be held between November and January. then a regional synthesis will be prepared and again presented and discussed with the concerned decision makers at the regional stakeholder workshop to be held in February 2016.
