IF Coordination Workshop
We, MRLG, are hosting (20-21 July) a Project Preparation and Coordination Workshop in Vientiane. This workshop is the first opportunity for shortlisted proponents of our 1st call for the Innovation Fund (IF) proposals to link closely with the MRLG goals and activities, and importantly to with each other in search of synergies and linkages between the different projects.
Our recent call for proposals for the Innovation Fund (IF) shortlisted these 11 promising projects and they are currently preparing their full technical and financial proposal. During the workshop we provide assistance in focusing the project proposals and then ask proponents to establish mechanisms that will enable them to share and disseminate lessons and experiences during the course of their project. Representatives are spending time searching for synergies among each other as well as with other MRLG funding mechanisms (Learning & Advocacy Activities, and Quick Disbursement Fund activities ). Creating these linkages between MRLG funded activities as well as other donor-funded projects active in the region is key to our goal to support multi-stakeholder dialogue and assist in regional cooperation between Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam and beyond. We aim to provide opportunities like this workshop, to build stronger networks and experience sharing. Holding such face to face meetings is valuable for relationship building and knowledge sharing that would not otherwise occur.
The Final Proposals are due on the 18th August, a process of evaluation will take place prior to announcing the final projects. We expect to finalize the IF Grants and look forward to their Inception in early November 2015.
“This is a good mechanism to help us link with our L&A and other QDF/IF projects – we can know about each their activities. We can start to use social media to begin our network.” Phong – IPSARD
